GOD’S LAND IN GOD’S COUNTRY: Ancient Egypt in Yorkshire

SATURDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER 2017 – SATURDAY 20th JANUARY 2018

See a new side to the Ancient Egyptians through the multitude of artefacts selected from museum collections across Yorkshire. This exhibition highlights the long-standing connection between Ancient Egypt and Yorkshire’s historians and archaeologists. From
George Sandys of York’s Grand Tour to Egypt in 1610 to our own
Joann Fletcher’s discoveries, explore antiquities and stories of ancient Egypt.

These unique and precious treasures have fascinated our county’s explorers, archaeologists and artists for the last
400 years.
