The music of Ireland is known for its jigs and reels as well as sentimental ballads telling the story of the Irish people, their hardship and journey to America to find their fortune.. The programme will include readings, serious and humorous, and songs by Jack Moeran (1894 – 1950), whose father was Irish, to words by Seumus O’Sullivan and James Joyce.
