Gareth is from Wakefield and joined Penistone FM as a volunteer in January 2011. He is a radio presenter with many years of experience.
You can join Gareth on his Friday morning show every week from 9:00am to 12 noon. Gareth’s show includes a look at the morning papers at 9:15 and then is packed full of exciting features.
Looking towards the weekend, the show features a classic album on “The Album of the Week” of which some of the best tracks are played from it. If you have an album you would like Gareth to feature why not let him know!
From 10:00am the show heads back in time with “The Ten from When?”. Ten songs from one year, but what is the year?
Gareth’s radio career began in 2001 at HWD Hospital Radio in Dewsbury and he has worked in commercial radio since 2003 working at radio stations across Yorkshire including Wakefield and Barnsley.
We asked Gareth to tell us a little bit more about himself and this is what he had to say…
“I really enjoy being involved with Penistone FM and I love the Penistone area and hope to relocate to Cawthorne one day.”
“As well as my show on Penistone FM you’ll hear me popping up on radio stations in places such as York, Harrogate, Blackburn and Burnley (Lancashire!)”
“In my spare time I enjoy gardening and always have a garden full of vegtables in the summer, I love railways, reading books, walking in the countryside, a particular favourite of mine is Langsett Reserviour & Cannon Hall where I practice my other hobby of photography.”
“I also own a rabbit and three hamsters!”
