The National Trading Standards Scams Team (NTSST) has been given funding to install call blocking technology in the homes of people living with dementia to protect them from scam and nuisance calls, any staff with family/friends/neighbours who have a dementia related illness who you know receive nuisance calls may qualify for a free ‘True Call’ device.
This nuisance call blocker is designed to protect vulnerable people by blocking unwanted calls they receive, it is used by Trading Standards across the UK and has achieved ‘Secured by Design’ accreditation, further information about this device can be found on the following link:
We installed a couple of these True Call devices for elderly people who were victims of scam calls. The call blocker prevented future calls being made by criminals trying to commit fraud, it also stopped all those nuisance calls we all receive from time to time, one of the clients also said having the blocker installed gave her ‘piece of mind’ as each time her phone did ring she was scared of answering it.
