Conservation Task on Wharncliffe

 

Volunteers are needed on a conservation task on Wharncliffe Heathlands Nature Reserves.   Sunday 26th March

Part of the Wharncliffe Heathlands Nature Reserve is being managed as a woodland pasture to encourage greater biodiversity on the site.  One of the major problem in the management is the encroachment of bracken.

The task is a joint one between the Wharncliffe Heathlands  Trust and Sheffield University Conservation Group. The event will be rounded off with a short tour of the reserve as it springs back into life.

Anyone is welcome to take part and should meet at the River Don bridge on Station Road, Deepcar (map reference SK 291 980 /post code S36 2SQ) at 11.00am 

Please Wear stout footwear and bring warm clothes,gardening gloves and some lunch.

Tools will be provided Under 18s are welcome but will need to

be accompanied by an adult.

The event will finish by 4.00pm
