Barnsley Hospice Are Hosting a Death Cafe

Barnsley Hospice would like to invite you to join them for a unique evening hosted by Cafe Generation in Penistone on Thursday 21st May at 5.30pm

They are hosting a Death Cafe during Dying Matters Awareness Week. It is not a support group or a counselling session, but an opportunity for people to come together in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, have a drink, eat cake and join in respectful, engaging, thought-provoking and life-affirming conversation.

Death Cafe is an international movement started in Europe dedicated to talking about death publicly – “to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives”.

Conversation topics may include:

  • How does thinking about death improve my life?
  • How can we prepare for our own death? Burial, cremation what are the options?
  • How do I want to be remembered?
  • What is on your bucket list?

They hope you will be able to join them and please invite your friends, family and colleagues to come and join in.

Please RSVP by email to Rachel.whitehurst@barnsley-hospice.org or phone 01226 244 244.
