“No Horizon” is a musical about local hero Nicholas Saunderson – the blind genius who, born in 1682, went on to become Lucasian Professor of Maths at Cambridge University – the position now occupied by Stephen Hawking.
“No Horizon” was performed in Penistone to considerable acclaim in 2006 – it starred Olivier-award-winning actor James Lomas. It’s now been re-written as a sung-through musical, and Andy Platt and fellow producer Max Reid are taking the show to Edinburgh for the fringe festival in August of 2015.
They are now looking for cast members and are seeking as much local involvement as possible. They are having an Open Evening at 7.00pm on Sunday January 11th at The Old Mill, Millhouse Lane in Millhouse Green (turn left immediately at the Post Office and follow the road to the end!)
In addition, they are seeking an enthusiastic individual who would like to involve themselves on the promotional side. Experience would be great but isn’t necessary – energy, people skills and enthusiasm are the most important requirements. There’s no money involved but they promise a lot of fun along the way and a great experience.
