Some people may have noticed a new bright yellow box in the entrance of the building which houses a defibrillator. The Centre’s first aiders are trained in how to use it, but it is also available to anybody who needs it and is close enough to get to it within a few minutes. A defibrillator restarts a person’s heart in the event of a heart attack or heart failure and is far more effective than chest compression’s.

If you needed the defibrillator, you would go to Penistone Leisure Centre, call 999 and they would talk you through what to do.

The more people who know the defibrillator is there, the more likely it is that someone who needs it can be helped – so please spread the word.
