Penistone History Group is a lively group who meet every other Wednesday afternoon in St John’s Community Centre for a talk or demonstration by invited speakers

The next meeting is on:

Wednesday 16th January: The Changing Years (History Video) – The first History Group meeting of 2019 kicks off with this DVD slide show by the late RN ‘Dick’ Brownhill, the well-known Penistone historian, former Turf Accountant and Penistone History Group regular. This helps to keep fond memories of RNB alive.

Registration is at 1.45pm for a 2pm start.

Admission £2 and includes Tea and a biscuit

Penistone History and Archive Group also look after the Penistone Archive, which is open on Market days in the Lower Hall of the Community Centre.

The group is always on the look-out for Penistone Almanacs, local historical photos or anything relating to local history, so it can be kept in Penistone, not stored and forgotten elsewhere. For more information Tel: 01226 766 827
