Do you want to help to make a difference to children’s everyday experience of going to school?

This is an exciting opportunity to join Capital Directorate, within the DfE, on a relatively unique programme in government – the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP). In two phases, the programme is rebuilding or refurbishing the worst 537 schools across the country.

The PSBP Programme Management Office (PMO) provides professional and technical support on programme planning, risk management, reporting and programme governance.

You will be responsible for maintaining the programme level reporting system and various data repositories; analysing data and information to provide accurate and timely management information reports to support the delivery of the programme. You will directly engage stakeholders at all levels to ensure that informed decisions are able to be made to drive the programme forwards. You will also be responsible for the successful implementation of the PSBP governance processes as defined and delivered by the PMO and for developing active and effective support for delivering the programme.

The Programme Analyst should assume the role of a trusted advisor to the Head of PMO by providing sound guidance, analysis and support.

You will need to be dynamic in a busy programme office as part of a constantly evolving programme environment. The role will involve a small amount of domestic travel to support the regional teams, but the role can be based in Manchester or Sheffield. The post holder will report to the Planning & Performance Manager. Either location may be considered with the understanding that frequent visits to London will be required.

Salary is £35,497 to £39,114 per year
