This means the Garden is now fully independent. They will continue to be a not for profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers.
It’s easy to get involved and they need lots more volunteers to be part of this community resource. You don’t need to be a good gardener. Everyone, young and old is welcome. You might be interested in conservation or building or just want to get out, meet people and do something positive.
At the moment, they are particularly keen to find someone who could help them revamp their website.
They’re very keen for more people to visit and use the garden. There’s an orchard, a pond, bug hotels, hops raised beds and polytunnels for lots of different kinds of vegetables. There’s a very interesting Physic Garden too.
They have regular visits from school groups who enjoy getting stuck into planting and weeding. They have a meeting room and kitchen so it’s perfect for small meetings and parties.
If you work with young people or with a group who would enjoy a visit, please get in touch.
