The Penistone Line Partnership annual Christmas Carol Train will run on Monday 1st December

On board will be members of the Gledholt Male Voice Choir, singing a variety of Christmas songs and carols and the Penistone Line Partnership travelling bar! A range of soft and alcoholic beverages will be on sale.

The trip also includes a trip to The Station Inn, Silkstone Common, where carols will be sung around the fire.

This will be the last music train of 2014, but it will be back in the Spring and Summer months in 2015.

The Penistone Line Music Trains use normal timetabled service trains along the Penistone line. It pulls out from platform 2 at Huddersfield Station at 19.16. No special ticket is required; it is just the standard fare.

The music, bar and stewards are organised by the Penistone Line Partnership. The trains are operated by Northern Rail.

If boarding at Huddersfield Station, you must buy a ticket before you board the train. Passengers from other stations can buy a ticket from the conductor on the train.

The return fare (Huddersfield – Sheffield) is currently £9.20.
