Tour De Yorkshire Events Planned for Penistone

On race day Sunday 30th April. 4,500 amateur riders will start to appear from 7.30 am onwards. The main race is due around 4-4.30pm, preceded by a publicity caravan at around 3.04pm.

Penistone Town Council, Penistone Show committee, and a host of community groups will present a festival with something for everyone.

The Town centre will come alive from 11.00am to 3.00pm with something for everyone.

Activities and music will continue in the Market Barn when the race has passed through.

5 Music stages at various locations across the town centre

Face Painting, bar food and music, DJ, Trade stalls in the Market Barn and a giant screen broadcasting the race so you don’t have to miss any of the action.

Bicycle based activities and skittles and soccer games behind the Loft Coffee Shop.

Fairground Rides, Bouncy Castle, Armed Forces, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, stalls and games plus a sponsored static bike ride at the Paramount Car Park

Craft stalls food and music at St Johns Church together with a ‘Have a Go’ Potters Wheel

Lots of pubs cafes and shops opening for the day, providing food drink and further entertainment.

Penistone FM will be broadcasting live all day at various locations along the race route.
