Stocksbridge in South Yorkshire has reached the final of the Rambler’s competition to find the best walking neighbourhood in 2018.

Stocksbridge is the only Yorkshire nomination to make the 2018 shortlist. Organised by the Ramblers, this prestigious award recognises an area where walking is a safe, pleasant and easy way to travel.

For Stocksbridge to win this competition they need people to vote for them. You can visit The Ramblers website at www.ramblers.org.uk/vote where you will find short videos from each of the ten finalists. Voting is open from February 19th for three weeks.

Stocksbridge, with its hills, green surroundings and many waymarked footpaths is the prime walking centre of the South Pennines.  As, according to Ramblers, the best walking area in Yorkshire, Stocksbridge fully deserves inclusion on the shortlist and is a worthy contender for the final accolade.

The deadline for voting is 12th March so please visit www.ramblers.org.uk/vote and ensure that Stocksbridge becomes the best walking neighbourhood in the U.K.
