With South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and South Yorkshire Police

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and South Yorkshire Police have teamed up with the Prince’s Trust and Barnsley College to deliver our award winning 12 week TEAM programme. The course is open to 16 – 25 year olds and is a life changing 12 week adventure. Since starting the programme we have transformed over 200 young people’s lives. Also in this period we have undertaken 14 community projects three of which recently won the coveted Prince’s Trust Community impact award for Yorkshire and Humberside.

The young people will get involved in team building activities, a week-long residential trip away to the Peak District, a community project and two weeks of work experience during the course. They will also get advice on employability, as well as gaining a number of nationally recognised qualifications.

On graduation, the young people are awarded a number of qualifications including:

  • Food Hygiene
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • First Aid
  • Prince’s Trust Qualification in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills

As our course is the only one in the country that is delivered by the fire service and the police, we are also able to offer extra, blue light based learning opportunities. Take a look at our new video for a taste of what we are about.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14F5KnYobP0

Young people will get a behind the scenes insight into all things police and get to do practical activities with the fire fighters.

Our next Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Barnsley will be starting on 24th September 2018. If you know anyone that would benefit from the programme please ring 07920801553 today! Places are running out and it would be a shame to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
