‘Tears and Laughter’
Sunday 12 May
at 4 00 pm
Elizabeth Charlesworth soprano,
Nigel Gyte piano
It is a pleasure to welcome Nigel Gyte back to Hoylandswaine. Nigel lives near Worksop and has been the mainstay of choral societies in Rotherham and Sheffield as well as playing keyboard for visiting professional productions of Blood Brothers, Sing Live UK and for Keith Roe in his Musical Cavalcade. Elizabeth considers it a privilege to work with him on this wonderful repertoire of English, German and French songs.
The programme is all about contrast and takes its title from Schubert’s song Lachen und Weinen, laughing and weeping. They also contrast Night and Day, Greetings and Farewells and Alone or Partying.
Refreshments available from 3 30. Admission free. Retiring collection
