Earlier this year, Penistone FM received a generous, and very welcome, grant of £700.00 from the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund to buy new computer equipment for the Training Studio. The grant was sponsored by the Freemasons in Wharncliffe Chapter No 1462.

Since then, Pengestone Lodge No 6933 has been successful in obtaining a very recent grant for Penistone Community Arts (PCA)  in the sum of £4,400.00.

On June 24th, which coincidentally was the 298th anniversary of the opening of the very first Grand Lodge in London, Alan Hey of Pengestone Lodge No 6933 presented a cheque for £4,400 to a delighted Andy Platts, Headmaster of Springvale Primary School, in the main studio at Penistone FM. Ian Lewis, Chair of the Media Committee of the Masonic Province of Yorkshire West Riding, and several other Masons from the Pengestone Lodge were also present.

Andy Platts said the substantial grant would go a long way to helping put on the musical “No Horizon” at the Edinburgh Festival in 2016. “No Horizon” was written by Andy Platts.
