Woman cut from car wreck

Fire crews freed a woman was trapped in a car following a road traffic collision near the Dog and Partridge pub on the A628 Woodhead road on Thursday night.

With regular crews taking industrial action, contingency firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle using cutting gear to free the casualty, who was conscious and breathing.

The air ambulance also attended the incident.
